Prius PLUS Performance Evolution badge (PT413-47110)

Since completing the Prius PLUS Performance package, minus the PLUS 17″ split spoke alloy wheels, I think it’s time to slap on the PLUS badge. The part number for the badge is PT413-47110 and can be purchased for $45-$55, depending on the source. Some Toyota dealerships are reluctant to order this badge for you as an individual item unless you order the complete PLUS Appearance or PLUS Performance package, while other dealerships stock it and sell it as an inventory item.

After taking a few measurements from PLUS packaged 3rd gen Prius models at various dealerships, I am able to determine the approximate application dimension. The badge sits approximately 1″ down from the bottom edge of the rear hatch sub-assembly panel.

To install the badge, clean the application area thoroughly with soap or isopropyl alcohol, then wipe dry.

Apply masking tape onto the rear hatch area using the following guide:

Make sure the edges of the masking tape is parallel with the sub-assembly panel and the left hatch edge. Peel off 1/2″ of the adhesive backing and stick the badge onto the hatch and adjust alignment as necessary:

Slowly pull out the adhesive backing while pressing the badge firmly against the hatch and ensuring alignment at the same time. Take your time as once the badge is adhered to the hatch, it is difficult to undo.

I’m still deciding on the PLUS 17″ wheels vs. other cost effective options, such as 17″ Drag DR-44. I’ll sleep on it until my OEM tire treads are close to wearing out.
