After spending about 3 hours cleaning the idle air control valve and the throttle body of the Acura RSX, I noticed immediate throttle responsiveness and an increase in MPG. This is after 7 years of owning the RSX and at 84,000 miles.
The clean-up was performed because I’ve experienced erratic idle-stalling problems upon start up after a long drive. I’ll post the subsequent do-it-yourself guide shortly when I find time. I’ll also be restoring some of my older RSX do-it-yourself guides, such as the rest of the A-Spec underbody spoiler installation instructions, JDM badge installation, etc.
I'm due to clean my IACV too. I'm eagerly awaiting your DIY. I'm confident I could do it, but I won't object to a step by step DIY ;).
Ha, yeah I ended up cleaning the TB also and the result were instantly noticeable. I should have the DIY up this weekend.
